Finished cars in action

If you have finished one of our car kits, show us your handy work and send a picture to show the rest of the world.

Scott Weatherford's just finished CSX coil car ready for its first load.

The "Baby HiCube" shows a creative way to modify our stamped gondola ends for use for box car use.

Still on the weld table, Carl Schmidt's coil car waiting for the paint shop.

Bulkhead flat car lettered in CNW built by Steve Flanders of the S&S Shortline Railroad.  The custom built lumber load is made of scale 4"x6" and 6"x6"  complete with all the tie downs.

Rio Grande 53-1/2' GSC flat car also built by Steve Flanders complete with with the big green tractor and implement load straight from Moline.

Straight from the USS rolling mill, we see a cut of Norfolk Southern coil cars ready for pickup.

Penn Central 100 ton coil car built by Bill Gardei.  Rolling on Tom Bee 100 ton modern trucks.  Running back empty this time.

Coil Car built by Jon Hollahan of the Trade Winds & Atlantic Railroad in Florida.  Pretty sharp looking paint job if you ask me.

Built by Fred Rickert from the Chicago area. Of course the steam tractor is fully functional in 1:4 scale. Photographed by Carl Baskin at the White Creek RR.

Here we have a couple of shots or Lee Wright's flatcar.  Lee did some kit bashing to adapt his personal coupler pocket design as well as fabricating some uncoupling levers.  For a detailed description of his car assembly and modifications visit:

Just fresh out of the paint shop is a hopper car kit constructed by Bob Snippe, Spring Lake, MI

A nice shot of Jack Bath's bulkhead flatcar constructed with the assistance of Carl Baskin, both of the Illinois Live Steamers.  The fancy pipe load is a great addition.

A regular GSC flat car built by Harry Abendroth.  The additional deck detailing represents the hold-down devices used for moving automobile frames.  The deck frames are removable to allow it to be used as a riding car.  This car can be seen generating revenue at the Pennsylvania Live Steamers.

Bulkhead Flat car assembled by Alan Fanke, Kansasville, WI.  Just another example of converting from trucks to trains.

Here's a Tom Bee hopper car fully detailed by Bob Snippe using Precision Steel Car detail parts.  The RTR  hopper and PSC detail package makes a nice alternative for those not interested in an all out kit.
