Steel Coil Car

This kit is accurately scaled from the 100 ton coil car built by the Southern Iron & Equipment.  As with all our cars, this kit as with our other products is made of all steel and aluminum, no plastic.  The parts are all laser cut with a number of custom stamped parts.  The car comes with removable angled hoods commonly seen first in the 1960's up to now.  The area under the hoods makes a great hidden storage space for tools and such.  The hoods are fully detailed complete with stack supports that allow the hoods to stack on top of one another just like the real thing.  The kit also includes a custom punched walkway all around the car as well as a stamped brakewheel assembly, grab irons and stirrup steps.  The underside of the car is constructed with the same attention to detail.
